The Artist

I am a self taught artist and have always loved to draw and paint since as long as I remember, I have been drawing for the best part of 20 years and I work from my home studio. As a true animal lover i could think of nothing i would rather paint. My main passion is dogs, having been a dog owner all my life and now owned by two wonderful and playful Rhodesian Ridgebacks.

I love to capture the unique personality and expression of each dog and bring that to life on the paper. I like to speak with the pets owners if possible and discover the little quirks there pet has that make them special. This really helps me get to know a little about the pet if i dont get chance to meet with them.

I have used many mediums but my preference would be soft pastels as they are so versatile and capture the textures that silky fur or fluffy ears have. I sometimes use watercolour as a base layer for my pastel work. Occasionally I work in charcoal and graphite pencils.

You have no doubt seen many artists advertising there services, there are alot out there, just do a Google search and hundreds will come up all over the world. Each has there own unique style, my style is simple, I aim to capture the true personality and expression of each individual and almost bring them to life on the paper. I thoroughly enjoy painting and never get bored of bringing these family pets to life, for many have already gone to rainbow bridge.
